To check a 5 amp fuse with a multimeter, set the multimeter to the continuity or resistance (ohms) mode, then touch the probes to each end of the fuse. If the multimeter beeps or shows a very low resistance (close to zero), the fuse is good; if there is no beep or the reading is infinite, the fuse is blown.
