To open the drain valve on a hot tub, first locate the drain spout, which is usually found near the base of the tub. Pull out the spout, unscrew or twist off the cap, and then turn the valve to the open position to allow the water to flow out. Make sure to attach a garden hose if you want to direct the water to a specific location.
