It is generally better to use a floater for chlorine tablets rather than placing them directly in the skimmer. Putting tablets in the skimmer can cause highly concentrated chlorine to flow through your pool equipment, which may damage your pump and filter over time. A floater distributes chlorine more evenly and helps protect your pool equipment.
