this item comes with the plug and click adapter so I don't need to pay extra for it. Is this correct

That is not correct. The heater itself has the adaptor needed to connect the unit to your circuit board, but only if your current board has the necessary adaptor to plug into. If your existing board/heater does not have the adaptor to plug into, you need to order the heater with the additional "plug and click" adaptor. That needs to be installed onto your circuit board so you can connect the two.
