Were would the 3/4 measurement be for the valve ?

These diverters and air controls are categorized by the size of the plumbing that runs to the specific part. in this case, the X279624 Waterfall Diverter, that diverter uses 3/4-inch plumbing. So that is not the actual size of the diverter or handle.
